A bespoke installation of Factorylux cage lighting and filament light bulbs was specified by Wells Mackereth for the Little Venice Coach House project featured in the August 2013 issue of Taschen Interiors Now. The Coach House was completed in 2011 from an existing Victorian coach house and new building.
The new part of the building is a large and modern space with exposed steelwork and polished concrete. The dining area is lit by a bespoke arrangement of Factorylux cage lighting. In addition to featuring in Taschen Interiors, the building and interior were nominated for several awards. The house was a finalist in the New London 2011 Awards in the category of Living and won the Interior Design category at The Daily Telegraph British Homes Awards 2011.
Sir Terence Conran described the Coach House as 'dramatic yet still feels like a home because it is full of personality with so many interesting features and attention to detail. Excellent use of British craftsmanship too – you see, we are the finest in the world and really can make things!'
All the Factorylux cage lighting is made in the UK for exceptional quality and durability. Both the large balloon light bulb cages and long tube light bulb cages are available in a range of colours and finishes.
The design of the cage lighting makes them extremely versatile - the neck of the cages clamp to the Factorylux E27 lamp holders. This means they can be configured as cage pendant lights using the Factorylux Made For you service; fixed to the Factorylux wall and ceiling lights such as the Maria Small Factory Light; and if the threaded entry lamp holder is specified, fitted as part of a galvanised steel conduit installation.
