Information about discounts, trade pricing, retailing & VAT


Discounts are available installers, wholesalers, interior and lighting designers. To get Trade discounts:
  • If you've not already got an account, create one here.
  • Contact us - hello@urbancottageindustries.com - from an existing or newly created account.
  • The customer support team will convert your account to a 'trade customer' account.
For 'trade customers' the discounts are automatically applied to purchases. You can buy:
  • Online by debit card, credit card or PayPal - put the items in the basket and the discount will be automatically applied at checkout.
  • Online by BACS, CHAPS, SWIFT, Faster Payments or credit card - put the items in the basket and request an invoice at checkout. Discounts are applied automatically. You'll receive an invoice by email to pay by bank transfer or ring with your credit card details - 0207 193 2119 and choose option 1.
  • By email or purchase order - send us an email with the following information: product names, SKUs, quantities, contact name, phone number, billing address, delivery address and VAT number. We'll send you an invoice by email with the discounts applied. Pay by bank transfer or ring with your credit card details.
Dispatch and delivery of 'trade customer' orders:
  • All but the very largest orders are supplied from warehouse stock.
  • Most orders placed by 11am are dispatched the same day. If you want an order placed after 11am to be sent the same day, get in touch - hello@urbancottageindustries.com.
  • UK orders are dispatched for free next working delivery by DPD. EU and rest of the world orders ship by UPS for day definite delivery within 5 days depending on destination. Upgrades are available at checkout and full delivery information is here.

There are a number of high street shops which stock Factorylux products including the revered UK interiors retailer Heal's. We are able to provide exceptional levels of service for retailers in terms of order fulfilment, technical and marketing support. Information about VAT

Urban Cottage Industries Ltd is registered for value added tax (VAT) and is legally required to add VAT at 20% to most sales. The VAT number is GB 988655736.

When VAT is added to the sale price:
  • You are an individual or a business ordering goods for delivery to a UK address.
  • You are an individual or a business not registered for VAT ordering goods for delivery to an EU address.

When VAT is not added to the sales price:
  • You are an individual or a business ordering goods for delivery to an address outside the UK or EU.
  • You are a VAT registered business and ordering goods for delivery to an EU address and provide a valid VAT number before completing the sale. We are unable refund VAT after a sale has completed.
  • You are receiving delivery to the Channel Islands. The Channel Islands are not part of the UK for  VAT purposes, so orders going to the Channel Islands are treated as zero-rated exports. However, the total amount you pay for your order will not change.

When we are able to refund VAT after a sale has been completed:
  • You are a VAT registered business which ordered goods for delivery to an EU address, paid VAT on the original purchase, and return the entire order at your expense.
  • You are welcome to place a new order with a valid VAT number.
