Light Fittings | Factorylux for Red Frog Design Project

A range of Factorylux light fittings were specified for the new EU HQ of SGS International the global packaging and marketing production company. The fittings included the 360mm Industrial Copper Lamp Shades and Maria Banjo Wall Lights.

The SGS HQ is in the Maltings, a collection of Victorian buildings on the north-east of Hull city centre. The brewery closed in 1985 and has been in redevelopment since 2010. The design work for the SGS HQ was by commercial interiors and fit-out company Red Frog Design (RFD) with Allenby Commercial as the developer/main contractor. The RFD design preserves, uncovers and restores the original structure and features of the buildings while creating a modern working environment. The range of spaces and styles over the three floors are designed to be flexible and encourage a range of working styles. There are social spaces along the common routes to encourage interaction and collaboration. The redevelopment won the 'Small Commercial Interiors Project of the Year' award at the 2016 Mixology Interior Design Awards. The Factorylux Copper Lamp Shades are installed in several spaces, including the kitchen and dining area. The copper lamp shades are machined in the UK from pure copper for exceptional quality and durability. In addition to being available 'shade-only' the copper shades can be configured as complete ready-to-install pendant lights using the Made For You lighting configurators. Choose from hundreds of components - ceiling roses, lighting cable, lamp holders and light bulbs - to create the perfect pendant light for your room or space. When you are happy with the design, the pendant light is hand built at our production HQ in Yorkshire, tested and certified to BS EN 60598 and dispatched for safe and simple installation. Start your design here. The classic Factorylux Maria Banjo Wall Lights are also used extensively for the project. The Maria Banjos come in three body finishes (brass, bronze and silver) and with a choice of shades in six genuine vitreous enamel colours and six metallics. RFD chose the centrifuge galvanised shades for the SGS project. The components for the wall lights are precision machined and assembled in the UK to guarantee safety and durability.
