Kitchen Ceiling Lighting | Factorylux for North London Project

Bespoke versions of the Factorylux Maria Banjo light fittings were specified for the sloping ceiling of a stylish kitchen project in north London. The Kensal Rise house belongs to Hayley Allman and the kitchen ceiling lighting was installed as part of a side return extension project to create a large open plan kitchen dining space.

  The side return of the Victorian house was covered with a sloping ceiling and the adjustable Maria Banjo lights are cleverly used to provide task lighting for the work surfaces below the ceiling. The shades of the Maria Banjo lights can be adjusted and positioned using the wing nut on the body of the fitting. The back plates of the fittings are fixed to the sloping ceiling and the shade positioned to point directly down towards the work surfaces. The standard versions of the Maria Banjo lights have 2 finishes for the mounting plate and body (brass or bronze). The shades measure 190mm or approx 7½ inches in diameter and are available in six genuine vitreous enamel colours and six metallics, including copper and galvanised. For the Kensal Rise kitchen ceiling lighting, Hayley chose bespoke finishes: un-lacquered brass for the bodies of the kitchen ceiling lights to match the kitchen cabinet hardware and a black powder coat finish for the shades to match the Crittall windows and doors. The ceiling lights are fitted with Factorylux filament light bulbs. The brass components for the light fittings are precision machined in the UK and the lamp shades both spun and enamelled in the UK. Final assembly and testing takes place at our production HQ in Yorkshire to ensure exceptional finish, durability and safety. The shades cast a broad pool of light and are suitable for task lighting or providing additional ambient lighting in a range of rooms or spaces.
